Held at the Country Inn and Suites West. Stay Friday and/or Saturday night. Mention League of Minnesota Poets for the discounted rate of $110 per night. Reservations must be made by March 28th for the special rate.

        

Saturday April 28th:

 9:00 - 9:30 registration

 9:30 - 10:45 open mic 

 10:45 - 11:00 break

 11:00 keynote address, Mara Faulkner OSB

 12:00 lunch

 1:00 - 2:00 Writing prompts with Sister Mara

 2:00 - 3:00 writing activities/poetry germination

 3:00 - 3:15 break  

 3:15 - 4:30 Group critique circles: bring four copies of a poem for group feedback

 4:30 - 5:30 break for people to check into hotel, etc

 5:30 - 6:30 dinner

 7:30 - 8:30 Cracked Walnut reading 

 8:30 - 8:45 break 

 8:45 - 10:00 open mic 

Sunday April 29th:

 9:00 - 10:00  board meeting or open mic

10:00 - 10:15 break 

10:15 - 11:15 Larry Schug presentation 

11:15 - 11:45 general meeting

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Mara Faulkner, OSB is a poet, writer, Associate Professor Emeritus of English at the College of St. Benedict, and currently teaches poetry and writing at The Spirituality Center of Saint Benedict’s Monastery. Her memoir Going Blind was a Minnesota Book Award Finalist.

Larry has won two Central Minnesota Arts Board Individual Artist awards, a 2014 Central Minnesota Arts Board Established Artist award and a 2008 McKnight Fellowship for Writers award.
